About us
RetourMat brings together mattress recycling, rejuvenation and circular material expertise across Europe, helping businesses keep mattresses and valuable resources in circulation for longer.
Our story
Our story began with a simple ambition: to find a better way to manage mattresses at the end of their first life.
In the UK, The Furniture Recycling Group (TFRG) pioneered specialist mattress recycling and developed innovative solutions to recover valuable materials that would otherwise go to waste.
Today, that expertise forms part of RetourMat, one European company bringing together specialist knowledge, infrastructure and innovation across multiple markets.
From extending the life of suitable mattresses through rejuvenation to recycling those that can no longer be reused, we help businesses move away from a linear take-make-dispose model towards a more circular approach.

Combining expertise across Europe to deliver circular mattress solutions
Turning a waste problem into an opportunity
A mattress contains valuable materials including foam, textiles and steel. Our job is to keep those resources in circulation for as long as possible. Where a mattress is suitable for reuse, our rejuvenation process can extend its useful life. When reuse is no longer possible, our specialist recycling operations separate mattresses into individual material streams so those resources can be recovered and put back to productive use. By combining rejuvenation, recycling and the development of circular material solutions, we’re helping create a more sustainable future for the mattress industry.
Help us build a more circular future for mattresses.
RetourMat is growing, and so is the impact we can make. From our recycling and rejuvenation facilities to logistics, operations and commercial teams, our people all play a part in keeping mattresses and valuable materials in circulation for longer. If you want to work for a business solving a real environmental challenge and helping reshape the future of the mattress industry, we’d like to hear from you.
