Collection & registration
Returned mattresses can be collected from distribution points or directly from customers on behalf of retail partners. On arrival at RetourMat, each mattress is individually registered, creating a clear audit trail from the start.
Inspection & assessment
Our trained team carries out a detailed 22-point inspection against quality criteria agreed with each client. The mattress is assessed for its condition, structural integrity and suitability for rejuvenation.
Mattresses that meet the required standard continue through rejuvenation. Those that don’t can be diverted into our recycling process so their component materials can remain in circulation.
Industry-leading sanitisation
Suitable mattresses pass through RetourMat’s bespoke sanitisation process, developed specifically for mattress rejuvenation.
Using peracetic acid fogging and UV sterilisation technology, the process treats 100% of the mattress surface area, with batch swab testing used to verify cleanliness.
Quality assurance & repackaging
Following sanitisation, every mattress undergoes a final quality assurance check.
Approved mattresses are then protectively repackaged and can be relabelled to meet the retailer’s requirements, ready to return to market as a rejuvenated product.
